Born in Baghdad to Kurdish parents, Sama began her musical journey at just 13, DJing all-girls high school parties in her hometown. Before pursuing music full-time, she established a successful career in journalism, contributing to BBC News, Voice of America, and delivering a TEDx talk at Oxford University.
In 2021, Sama transitioned from the newsroom to the stage, embarking on an international touring career that has taken her to renowned venues across the US and Europe. Her signature sound is a fusion of deep, driving rhythms and global influences, shaped by her Middle Eastern heritage and years spent living in South Africa, Morocco, and Europe.
